The Tijuca Forest National Park Hiking Tour is a perfect choice if you are looking for a half-day hike in the Atlantic Rain Forest. You will see some of the park’s highlights, such as the Vista Chinesa view point, the Taunay Waterfall and hike up to one of its highest summits: Tijuca Peak (3300ft - 1021 meters) or Parrot’s Beak (3200ft - 989 Meters). The hike takes around 2:30hs (roundtrip). After the hike we will drive you back to your hotel.

Christ the Redeemer Statue on the top of Corcovado Mountain is certainly Rio’s most famous attraction. After visiting this major symbol of the city, our tour continues through the green roads of Tijuca Forest National Park. We will drive around and stop at some of the park’s highlights, and then go for a 02:30 hours hike (roundtrip) to one of its highest summits: Tijuca Peak (3300 feet - 1021 meters) or Parrot’s Beak (3200ft - 989 Meters). This is a perfect tour if you are looking for a moderate hike in the Atlantic Rain Forest and the most amazing views of the city.

The Pedra Bonita Mountain is mostly known for having Rio’s hang-gliding departure ramp. The ramp is located at 517 meters high (1700 feet). We will take you even higher in a 40 minutes hike to the summit of Pedra Bonita. The views up there are astonishing. From the 2200 feet summit (695 meters) you will be facing the massive Pedra da Gavea Mountain and the endless Atlantic Ocean. If you look east, you will be able to see the Favela of Rocinha and the Two Brothers Mountains (2 Irmãos), looking small from where we stand. Looking west you will find Barra da Tijuca, an early built area of the city that started to flourish in the 70ths and now represents one of the most developed and modern areas of the city. After our hike we will stop at the hang-gliding departure ramp and check what is like flying in this incredible city!

The Sugar Loaf hiking tour is definitely an unforgettable experience! The steep rocky trail will take you to the summit of this fabulous landmark at 1200 feet (400 meters)! The hike goes through some scrambling sections and a short 80 feet (25 meters) Rock Climb! At the summit we relax and enjoy the views before taking the traditional Cable Car down to Urca Hill. No Rock Climbing experience is required but you should be fit for this steep hike. For a Full-Day adventure at the Sugar Loaf area we recommend an optional Ocean Kayaking Tour in the morning.

The Sugar Loaf Mountain is one of Rio´s most famous attractions! The traditional way to get on the top of this famous landmark (1200 feet or 400 meters) is by cable car! Hikers can use an alternate way to reach the summit by taking an easy 45 minutes trail in the tropical forest to the top of Morro da Urca (the intermediary mountain) and then take the cable car to the top of Sugar Loaf. On the way back we will also take the cable car down to Urca Hill and then hike down to Praia Vermelha, where our hike started. A great way to have two different experiences in one single tour! For a Full-Day adventure at the Sugar Loaf area we recommend an optional Ocean Kayaking Tour in the afternoon.

Corcovado is certainly Brazil´s most famous landmark and it deserves the title! Situated in the Tijuca Forest National Park, the mountain summit is one of the best view points of many you can find in the city! We start the hike at Parque Lage at sea level, and go up to 711 meters high (2330 feet)! The hike takes about 2:30hs up and it presents some easy and short scramble sectors! At the summit we have an incredible 360 degrees view of Rio and the impressive statue of Christ the Redeemer. On the way down we will take the trail back to Parque Lage and drive you back to hotel.

Pedra da Gavea is one of the most challenging and popular trails in town! The hike takes approximately 3 hours uphill and is recommended to the most athletic people. On the way up we’ll face an easy rock climbing sector where we offer full climbing equipment for extra safety. The views at the summit are a deserved reward for the effort put on this ascension! At the top of this amazing sized and shaped rock we will have time to relax, enjoy the views, eat a snack and explore the large flat summit standing at approximately 2.700 feet high (844 meters)!

At the higher section of Favela do Vidigal a 1 hour trail will take us to the summit of the 2 Irmãos Mountain (Two Brothers), the breathtaking rock overlooking Leblon and Ipanema beaches. To get up there we will go through the curious and welcoming Favela of Vidigal. This community is one of the most positive examples of the so called Favelas. There you will be able to understand the physical structure and social organization of these neighborhoods. After driving you there, our guide will take you on a motorcycle taxi ride from the bottom of the community to the beginning of the trail (kombi vans are also available). During the hike you enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding area, such as Pedra da Gavea, Favela da Rocinha, Lagoa, Christ the Redeemer and Ipanema Beach. On the way down we will walk through the narrow alleys of the Favela, stop to enjoy a fresh drink, interact with locals and learn more about this culturally rich environment.

If you live in Rio de Janeiro and use social media, you have probably seen a photograph where hikers appear to be dangerously hanging off a rock ledge into what looks like an enormous drop below. Luckily, the drop is actually very small and the dangerous looks are all about perspectives. The hike itself takes about 50 minutes and is relatively easy. But you will need at least a 1 hour drive to arrive at the area, which is also known for hosting some of wildest beaches of Rio de Janeiro. Before driving you back to the hotel, our guide will stop at one of the nearby wild beaches (Prainha/Grumari) for pictures!

* If you want to extend your tour around the neighborhood, you can go for a Stand Up Paddle ride at the amazing canals of Restinga da Marambaia, visit Burle Marxs Landscape House, or Casa do Pontal Museum (Optional Not Included).

Ilha Grande is definitely a tropical paradise: The perfect place to enjoy nature and relax. During the Ilha Grande Full day tour we hike for approximately 3:30 hours, passing through the Atlantic rain forest and 5 different beaches! We make a quick stop on all of those beaches before we finally arrive at Lopes Mendes beach, where we spend a longer time swimming and enjoying this unspoiled and amazing place! After a few relaxing hours at Lopes Mendes, we take a boat back to the village of Abraão where we have lunch (optional) before returning to Rio.

The lush forest, pristine beaches and 3000 feet mountains of Ilha Grande have dazzled visitors for centuries. After a 2 hours drive from Rio and a 30 minutes boat ride, we arrive at the charming car-free village of Abraão. On our first day we explore the famous Abraão x Lopes Mendes trail, crossing tropical forests and paradisiacal beaches. At night we enjoy the pleasant ambience of the village’s streets, bars and restaurants. On our second day a 5 hours boat trip will take us to some of the Island’s best wild beaches and for snorkeling at beautiful locations. At night time we will drive back to Rio.

Paraty is a mix of history, culture and exuberant nature! Located between the ocean and the green mountains of Serra do Mar, this old colonial town has much to offer. On the first day we drive about 4 hours from Rio before start a 2:30 hours hike to Sono and Antigos beaches, where we enjoy the ocean and the tranquility of the local bars and restaurants at this small fishermen village. On the next morning we can enjoy the local beaches or go for a swim at one of the forest’s natural cascades and pools. Around noon, we will leave Sono by boat and then drive 30 minutes to the historical town of Paraty for a walking tour. There you will learn about the history, architecture and the culture of this charming and well preserved colonial heritage. After our walking tour we will have a late lunch before driving back to Rio. Arrival in Rio around 8:00 pm

This full day tour is the perfect option for those who want to enjoy a pleasant relaxing day in nature. The scenic road from Rio to Serra dos Orgãos offers wonderful views of this impressive mountain range that attracts trekkers from all around the world. We will visit the National Park headquarters at Teresópolis, swim in the Soberbo River and visit the small Von Marius natural history museum. We will also take a 1:30hs hike to the “Postcard viewpoint”, where we have astonishing views of many sharp peaks, including the famous “Dedo de Deus” (God’s Finger).

The exotic shaped peaks, the preserved rain forest, the clear water rivers and luxurious waterfalls are some of the attractions of this 2 Days Trip. On the first day we will face the 11 km trail that takes us to the summit of Pedra do Sino at 2275 meters high (7500 feet), where you will enjoy a breathtaking view of the mountains and the city of Rio de Janeiro. We spend the night at a shared mountain lodge with shared rooms and bunk beds where your guide will cook you dinner. On the next morning we will take you to the summit to enjoy the sunrise. The tandem flight at the Pedra Bonita Mountain started in the 80’s and it is one of the most popular adventure tours in town. We take off at 1700 feet high (510 meters). The flight lasts approximately 10 minutes and lands at São Conrado Beach.

Arraial do Cabo is one of the best places for Scuba Diving in Brazil. We will pick you up early in the morning at you hotel in Rio for a 2:30 hours drive to Arraial do Cabo, where you will meet your dive master and get on the boat for an approximately 4 hours ride. This relaxing and beautiful ride takes place in usually crystal clear waters and will cruise by wild beaches and rocky islands. This environment is the perfect place to enjoy the rich aquatic life of this place. Snacks and drinks will be available on the boat.

* The tour includes 1 dive of 20 minutes for non certified divers (baptism) and 2 dives of 20 minutes for certified divers (PADI/ PDIC/ NAUI/ CMAS).

Our surf lessons at Barra da Tijuca beach are perfect for beginners. On this beach we can find small and middle-sized waves that allow beginners to surf safely. Your instructor and equipment will be ready for you to start the activity as soon as you arrive there. The lesson lasts for about 1 hour and no previous experience is required. Swimming ability is mandatory.

* On days where the weather or wave conditions do not allow the surfing lessons to happen, Rio Hiking will offer a few optional activities such as stand-up paddle, bike tours or sightseeing tours.

The Ocean Kayaking tour could not be in a better place! You will paddle at calm waters around the impressive granite rock of Sugar Loaf Mountain having the city of Rio as a background! On the itinerary there will be time to rest and swim before returning to Urca beach and drive back to the hotel.

Bike riding is one of the best ways to appreciate the natural beauty of Rio. The slow two wheels pace allows you to observe the details of the city sceneries and stop at different places. During the 3 hours tour we will cycle along Ipanema, Leblon and Copacabana beaches and around Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas (Approximately 22km – 16 miles flat). The tour will start at the hotel and can finish back at the hotel or any other place of your choice (upon previous request)

There is nothing like discovering the rain forest environment walking on the top of the trees. Canopy is a really special way to enjoy nature. The circuit is 19 feet above the ground and 120 meters long, offering 9 different challenges which will demand a little courage and balance. After finishing the Canopy circuit you will find a thrilling Zip Line. For smaller kids a 6 foot high canopy is available. If you still have some energy left our guide will take you for a short hike to the top of Sacopã Hill where you will have an amazing view of Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas, Ipanema and Christ the Redeemer.

The Restinga da Marambaia area is definitely one of the best spots for practicing Stand Up Paddle at Rio. At this area the ocean invades the land forming winding canals surrounded by wild mangrove vegetation. The shallow calm waters of these canals are perfect for beginners. Wild life is abundant at this area and we can spot sea turtles and different species of birds. Before returning to the hotel our guide will stop at the wild beaches of Grumari and/or Prainha for pictures.

* The surrounding area also offer great seafood restaurant and a few other great attractions: Burle Marx landscape gardens, Casa do Pontal Folk Art Museum, Pedra do Telégrafo Hike or Wild Beaches Hike. Those activities can be added to your itinerary upon previous request (Optional not included).

The mountain range of Nova Friburgo is one of the nicest nearby places for White Water Rafting! We will ride on pristine waters and be surrounded by a lush native Atlantic Rain Forest (Mata Atlântica). Our ride is conceived for beginners and can even take children starting at 10 years old! During the rainy season (December to April) the waters will be running faster. During the dry season (May to October) our ride will take place on calmer waters. Before driving back to your hotel in Rio de Janeiro we will take you to a local restaurant for a snack or lunch (optional not included).

On this tour you will learn a little about Rio de Janeiro and Brazil’s history and culture. During our drive we will take you through the historical districts of Centro (downtown), Lapa and Santa Teresa and stop for pleasant walks around these areas. The Metropolitan Cathedral, Sao Bento Monastery, Olympic Boulevard (Graffiti Murals), Municipal Theater, Confeitaria Colombo and the Portuguese Library are just some of the places we will visit on this half day tour. Afterwards we will take you to the colorful Selaron staircase at Lapa neighborhood. The tour will end after visiting the charming Santa Teresa District, where we will drive around and make short stops at its nicest places.
